According to new findings published in Breast Cancer Research, caffeine reduces the risk of some types of breast cancer by more than 55%.
A new study carried out by Swedish researchers at the Karolinska Institute revealed an inverse correlation between high daily intakes of caffeine and developing a sub-type of breast tumor called “estrogen-receptor negative breast cancer.”
Participants in the study included 6,000 Swedish women. Findings indicated that women who drank five or more cups of coffee daily lowered their risk of estrogen-receptor negative breast cancer by 57%. That’s a substantial amount of coffee; but it’s a very substantial reduction in a serious health risk for women.
