Just a quick note to comment again on the way caffeine paranoia drives even reputable publications to spout misinformation about so-called “energy drinks.”  USA Today ran a story on March 17, 2011, stating that, “An 8.3-ounce can of Red Bull has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.”
In fact, an 8.3 ounce can of Red Bull delivers 80 milligrams of caffeine.  A typical 6 ounce cup of arabica filter drip coffee has at least twice as much caffeine!  A cup of robusta coffee would have about twice as much again!
My point:  The broughhaha over the “dangers” of caffeinated soft drinks is so much stuff and nonsense.  If these drinks contain too much caffeine to consume safely, coffee is a great deal worse.  So, unless you are ready to ban or restrict the use of coffee, please leave energy drinks alone.

CAFFEINE MUGS GALORE!!!!
